Q. What is TWIP?

TWIP is an online, membership-based, social marketplace that connects people to experiences, travelers and activity companions based on their travel behavior, or as we say, "Travanality." Think LinkedIn and Netflix for travelers. TWIP is an opportunity for people to find like-minded travel companions (using our Travanality guidelines) while also discovering life-changing shared experiences!

Q. What is Travanality?

Travanality is why you travel, when you take away time, destination and price. TWIP believes there are ten distinct, underlying Travanalities: Altruist, Culturist, Epicurean, Imaginavo, Maverick, Purist, Soulager, Urbanite, Victor and Wayfarer. Your personal Travanality is a unique combination of some or all of these, and is defined as a set of values, attitude, behavior and communication skills that you have while traveling. Think of Travanality as similar to a horoscope, but instead of studying your birthdate to discover who you are, we study what type of traveler you are. Your Travanality is as unique to you as your thumbprint. Please take our assessment to discover your singular makeup and which traveler lives inside you.

Q. What does TWIP offer, specifically?

TWIP is at once a social network (think LinkedIn), exclusively for travelers, and an original content provider (think Netflix), most notably a curator of trips designed to suit the Travanalities of our members. TWIP’s social network offers detailed and individualistic profile pages, community forums, and connectivity among members. Moreover, TWIP’s proprietary Travanality assessment enables travelers to identify like-minded companions with whom to brainstorm, exchange experiences and ideas, or simply get up and go. The “TWIP trips” we offer are carefully selected and adapted to suit you, our membership, and are classified by the Travanality(-ies) most closely associated with that adventure. Both aspects of TWIP are industry-leading innovations no other travel company can provide.

Q. Can I use TWIP without buying a membership?

Absolutely! We welcome all visitors to TWIP, and encourage basic access as an introduction to what TWIP has to offer. As a visitor to our site, you immediately gain access to our proprietary Travanality assessment, which offers invaluable insight into your inner traveler. Moreover, all of our visitors get a taste of the TWIP-isphere with an introduction to basic member profiles and sketches of the trips we offer. Of course, this is only the tip of the iceberg. We at TWIP are confident in the singularity of our product and believe access to these aspects of our site will only whet your appetite for more!

Q. What does my membership get me that basic access doesn’t?

As a TWIP member, you will get unrestricted access to the most comprehensive individual-traveler database available today. This includes our complete proprietary behavior assessment, exclusive experiences geared specifically toward you and like-minded companions at discounted prices, a vetted community and thousands of well-profiled members and travel experts. After completing your own travel profile, you’ll be able to peruse others’ pages for the perfect travel partner, connect with whomever you’d like, and join once-in-a-lifetime shared experiences. Or, you can let us do the work for you! Our system can connect you with users who possess similar travel desires and experiences.

Q. I don't foresee myself traveling anytime soon. Why should I purchase a membership?

This one is easy! To begin with, taking our assessment and seeing the world via your Travanality will change how you travel forever! Once armed with that information, there are so many travelers you can connect with in our ecosystem. You never know who may inspire you to travel. You could simply find a companion for a future experience, or connect with someone who can share their travel expertise with you. In fact, members’ profile pages often indicate searches for last-minute companions or spontaneous group adventures. TWIP further provides original content prepared exclusively for our members, from articles and advice to resources and Travanality-specific vacations. Finally, you get access to travel deals and discounts, so -- while TWIP respects the sanctity of your inbox and knows you’d rather be globetrotting than get hit with 20 emails a week -- you may miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity simply because you didn't sign up! Did we mention the locked-in-for-life half-price membership, available only during our initial launch period? With all that and more, why wait?

Q. So if I join during the pre-sale, the promotional rate is my rate for life? Are there other benefits to joining now?

Yes to both! TWIP offers three outstanding incentives to enroll during our initial promotional surge. Early TWIP members receive a lifetime locked-in rate of $149/year1 (rather than the standard $295/year), VIP member status, and a one-time $100 travel credit toward a TWIP vacation. We won’t be able to offer these benefits again, so please take advantage of our initial launch period!

Q. I’m interested in the experiences you offer. When can I purchase a trip?

Don't worry, when we go live, there will be a lot of experiences for you to choose from! We are busy creating them even now!

Q. Can non-members partake in TWIP trips?

Unfortunately, no. Everyone that goes on an experience or trip must be a TWIP member. Invite your friends!

Q. Who can sign up for TWIP?

Anyone that is a legal resident of the United States and Canada.

Q. Will you be expanding to be available in other countries?

Eventually, yes, but our focus is in the USA and Canada for now.

Q. Are there any additional restrictions for membership or other TWIP purchases?

All membership enrollments and purchases on www.twip.co are subject to the subject’s ability to pass a criminal background check in the United States and Canada. Any person unable to do so will be refunded half of their membership fee depending on their state of residence. Please see our Terms and Conditions.

Q. When does my membership actually begin?

Your membership is valid for one year and commences when TWIP officially launches. You will receive a notice from us when the launch date is solidified, which will be in 2017.

Q. When will I be charged?

For pre-sale items, you will be charged for the entire amount of the membership at the time of purchase.

Q. Where can I get a coupon code?

Certain TWIP Ambassadors may offer special discounts; TWIP Ambassadors include previously featured Twippers, bloggers and/or travel influencers. You may contact them for details. Alternatively, it is possible for members to earn credit by bringing along others to join the TWIP community.

Q. What is your Satisfaction Guarantee?

At TWIP, we are committed to providing our customers with a great travel experience. If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with your TWIP account, we will do everything we can to make it right, up to and including waiving TWIP's annual membership fee2. Contact us and let us know exactly what your issue is. We'll work with you to find a solution that will make you happy.


1 The promotional rate will remain your rate for all consecutive years of membership following your initial enrollment. Should you leave TWIP, and later decide to rejoin, you must re-enroll at the rate then-applicable for memberships

2 If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with TWIP's services, at your request TWIP will waive its membership fee for the upcoming 12-month period. This guarantee only applies to the fees charged by TWIP. No other affiliate, partner fees or expenses will be waived or reimbursed under this guarantee, including, but not limited to, the fees charged by third-party background check providers in the TWIP Network. TWIP reserves the right to discontinue or modify this guarantee in the future at any time in its sole discretion. This guarantee does not apply to TWIP API or white label customers. All requests made under this guarantee must be made within 60 days of purchase. Unfortunately, we can't refund or credit any money paid by you directly to third parties, such as payments made by you to members affiliated with our products.
